Is the printer already supplied with the inks?
Is the printer supplied with the inks?
      • All new printers come with a set of start up cartridges that are used to set the printer up from out of the box.

These are only filled with a small amount of ink and may run out quite quickly after installation.

A new set would then need to be ordered to replace the whole set of the start up cartridges.

      • Is the printer supplied with a full set of inks?

      • The printer should come with a full set of set up inks, however these do not last very long so you may want to purchase a full when buying the printer.

Differences between Brother JD 1200 W and JD1050 DWZUI printers and why is there a significent difference in their costs of ink.the cost of ink
Your packages of printer + ink for these printers only differs by about £3 despite the 1050 being about £113 and the 1200 being about £88. What is the difference between the 2 printers and why is the ink for the 1200 significantly more expensive than the ink for the 1050?
      • The two printer model numbers are DCP-J1200W and DCP-J1050DW. The two printers are very similar in specs and not much difference between them.

Both printers do take different cartridges and this is where the price difference comes into play. With each different sets of cartridges the price difference can vary a great deal.

The cartridges for the Brother DCP-J1050DW have capacity for approx 200 pages for the standard capacity and 500 pages for the XL's.

The cartridges for the Brother DCP-J1200W have capacity for approx 750 pages.

    Brilliant mid-priced printer

I wanted a low cost printer but found all of them at the £60 mark were either lacking a key function - automatic duplex printing to reduce paper use - or were based on just 2 cartridges, black and colour, which has always seemed a very wasteful way to buy ink. This printer overcame both of those at a slightly high price, but also been totally delighted with print quality and speed since using it, very happy I paid the extra few pounds to get a really high quality product.

This one works (unless my last HP printer that I got rid of after one month) dead easy to set up but it took me a while to master the method for setting ther date, once i had mastered thast everything else was SO easy. Im set to quiet mode and it really IS quiet. All in all I am very very please with it. If you, like me just print the occasional print, this is the one.

Looks good, performance good so far

This printer is a lot smaller than our previous one, which is great, plus it prints double sided, which the old one didn't. Setting up was very easy and it connected to our wifi with no problem. The printing is a decent speed and the colours good. We did get some bleeding of colours when printing double sided but that was probably down to the cheap paper we were using. We haven't used it too much yet but so far it is performing well.
