    Can you print 6, 7,and 8 mm wide lables.
    Would they be suitable for labeling items on the deck of a boat
    • This label printer can label onto most surfaces without issue, although we would advise some surfaces you may struggle to label onto and would suggest you check with Brother as to which it can do.

    plastic or fabric
    • It can only print on the labels that you can buy with the printer - I can't see any being fabric - the labels are usually laminated.

    Can the label maker be connected to a pc?
    When connected would it be able to print off a word from there?

    can you charge via electricity instead of batterys
    I have purchased this on behalf of a relative and we live a distance from each other. Can this be charged via electricity or is it only via battery?
    • This Printer is battery operated and can be powered by an AC Cable (sold separately) though it cannot be charged and must remain connected to mains power if using it via the AC cable.

    can you please tell me which is the compatible ac power adapter for this machine?
    I bought myself one when Maplin stores closed down and an adapter. I would like to purchase another for my daughter but everywhere just shows it as battery operated. We try to avoid battery only so there is less recycling of batteries but want to be sure I can get power source first.

    • You can change the language on the printer through the settings. Please see below instruction from the Brother Support website:

      The default Language setting is [English].

      Press the [Menu] key, select [Language] using the Cursor key, and then press the [OK] key or the Enter key.


      Press the Cursor key to select the language you want to set and press the [OK] key or the Enter key.

      The following languages are available:

      English / Español / Français / Hrvatski / Italiano / Magyar / Melayu / Nederlands / Norsk / Polski / Português / Portug. (Bra) / Română / Slovenski / Slovenský / Suomi / Svenska / Türkçe / Čeština / Dansk / Deutsch

      Please note that Arabic is not one of the languages it supports.

Versatile labelling machine for a good price

Quite a solid piece of kit. The keyboard is big enough to use easily, and everything works fine. Quite a good variety of fonts & effects for the labels, and does the job well.

Hand held Label Printer

This is a very fine device with granular control of what you want to print with up to 2 lines of information, various fonts and sizes and font weights. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I'd picked up how to use it. It is of a high quality as Brother products tend to be, it is chunky and solid but not too weighty. I've only printed onto the sample stock enclosed to label PC components and cables and the labels do stick very well! I will be trying other face stocks to really push this puppy to see what it can really do. The one thing I have noticed is that once you start printing, labelling projects seems to materialise out of nowhere! A really good piece of kit with a strong recommendation. I didn't buy the PSU for it to save on batteries but the OEM Brother PSU is available on line at a fraction of the cost elsewhere!

How did I live without one!!!

After seeing my electrician use his label maker, I chose a more basic model from Brother. It has been so useful - I am now replacing all those tacky paper labels on folders, jars, shelving, etc with these labels. The machine is easy to use, offers lots of functionality and not too pricey. I also think it would be a fun party toy but that is for another time. I highly recommend it.

Label crazy

Brilliant little machine, easy to use, has different fonts and styles and various size/colour labels available. Stand still long enough in my house and you’re labelled.
