START UP A MOBILE ICE CREAM BUSINESS

STEP2. REGULATIONS - FOOD SAFETY LAWS

After your initial planning to start up a mobile ice cream business your head is probably full of new ideas and plans on how you're going to make money at selling ice creams, but before you go any further you need to take time to read this very important section.
This is the most important step under our start-up mobile ice cream section. Food hygiene regulations are in place to protect the general public from all food risks and hazards. As a mobile ice cream seller you have a responsibility to adhere to those regulations and ensure every ice cream you sell is safe to consume. What is acceptable in your kitchen at home is not acceptable in a commercial catering environment. Safe food preparation and handling should be your number one priority with your new mobile ice cream business.
This area is aimed at providing you with general food handling and food safety advice and pointers to help you when setting up a new mobile ice cream business. We strongly advise that all persons considering starting a mobile ice cream business should contact their local environmental health officer within their local council for all up to date legislation and information on any of the topics covered throughout this section. Free food safety publications, information and up to date news covering all aspects of food hygiene and food safety are available from your local council website and government information websites.
