START UP A MOBILE CATERING BUSINESS

STEP1. PLANNING

Where to trade continued
Are there already numerous mobile caterers operating their businesses in your area?
Do you feel there's a need for a fast food outlet in any particular location?
Are there usually local objections from local residents and council's (particularly in beauty spots and small villages)?
What events are being held every year in your area? Are they big events, small events?
How far will you have to travel with your trailer to your pitch every day?

After you've considered all the above points and still feel that a mobile caterer is needed in your area you will now need to locate a position to trade from and the only way to locate a position is to get out there and look for one, talk to your local council who may be able to offer help and advice, talk to business owners, talk to local DIY store managers who will probably put you in touch with a catering concession company selling pitches (be very wary of over inflated rentals on DIY stores and hidden charges to join associations) talk to your local market organisers
