What are the best types of advertising
As a new start up business you are not looking to nor can afford to advertise your brand name alone, each advertisement placed must produce effective results and bookings. Every pound spent on advertising comes out of your profits and has to be recovered from sales of your food products. If your advertising does not produce the correct type and good targeted enquiries, drop it and try advertising somewhere different.

Advertising effectively and to the correct audience can be a very costly business. Putting a basic advert in your local telephone directory can easily set you back a few hundred pounds and will only cover a limited area. Don't forget most telephone directories allow you a free listing providing you have a business telephone number. Advertising in local papers and specialist event organisers publications is another option, but can also be expensive for a good quality advertisement that will have any impact and get real results.

Saying which of these works most effectively is a very tricky area as we hear so many conflicting reports from mobile caterers, some say they have a reasonable response from directories, some say they do not, some say they only advertise in a particular place because their competitors are advertising there and so on. So as you can see, it's very much a case of it works for some and doesn't work for others and very much a case of trial and error.
